Treatment
There are many options available to treat male infertility factors. Here are the most common treatments available to you at Genova IVF:
IUI
IUI is the first in-line treatment option and performed regularly at our clinic. In the IUI procedure sperm are placed inside the woman’s uterus when she is ovulating for the fertilization to take place. By increasing the number of sperms that reach the fallopian tubes the chances of pregnancy are increased.
A woman’s egg is combined with a man’s sperm in the embryology lab under controlled environment. If the egg fertilizes it is placed back into the women’s womb in 3-5 days.
ICSI
In a conventional IVF the woman’s egg and a man’s sperm are put together in hopes that they will meet and fertilize. ICSI goes one step further. In ICSI a single healthy sperm is selected and injected in the egg to facilitate fertilization. ICSI increases the chance of fertility especially if the sperm quality is inferior.
VARICOCELE SURGERY
Most men with varicocele don’t have any symptoms. They usually discover about their condition after they are diagnosed with infertility. Varicocele can be successfully treated surgically by simply redirecting the blood flow towards normal veins. It is best to consult our urologist to understand your options.
TESA
If no sperm are found after semen analysis your doctor will advise you to undergo a minor procedure to retrieve sperm directly from the testes. Sperm extraction is done by using a micro needle and can be performed at our clinic by our highly trained urologist. TESA is used regularly in fertility treatments such as IVF and ICSI.
