Treatment
Sperm Freezing Process
1. Semen Collection:
Semen is collected at Genova IVF center through natural ejaculation. For your convenience we have a well-appointed private room at our facility where you can provide your sample. Semen may also be collected at home and brought to our center within an hour. In cases where sperm parameters are reduced, semen is collected through a minor procedure called TESA.
2. Semen Analysis:
Your semen sample is then provided to our andrology lab where it is analyzed under a microscope to test the quantity (sperm count), their movement (motility) and shape (morphology).
3. Sperm Freezing:
The sperm cells are frozen using a new flash-freeze technique called Vitrification and stored for future use.
4. Future IVF or IUI Cycle:
Sperm can be frozen until you are ready to have a child. At the time we will thaw your sperm sample and use it to fertilize your wife’s eggs in an IUI or IVF-ICSI Cycle.
